Biol 130 introduces the study of biological principles using the human body as a model. Upon completion of this course students will be able to:

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

1. Describe essential biological structures and processes that occur at the molecular and cellular levels and explain how they enable life.

2. Describe basic structure and physiology of human organ systems and how they function to maintain life.

3. Describe how malfunctions in these organ systems cause disease.

4. Explain the role of genetics and environment in health, disease and evolution.

5. Find, evaluate the validity of, and analyze information about contemporary topics in human biology.
